A Mini Christmas Gift Guide ~ For The Arty Types In Your Life

*AD | This post is a paid collaboration with King & McGaw, purveyors of the finest art prints at affordable prices*

Christmas is fast approaching and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably *trying* to practise being a little more mindful with your gifts this year.

Note to self: just because they have toes and I have toes does not mean you have to buy them toes. I mean SOCKS. It doesn’t mean you need to buy them s-o-c-k-s.

I know I would much rather receive one really considered & meaningful gift over ten last minute wonders. Unless, one to nine of those ten minute wonders just so happens to bark or answer to Bradley Cooper.

Whether they can tell apart their Matisses from their Picassos or they’re just a sucker for all things aesthetically pleasing, framed art always makes for a stand-out gift idea as it’s not something you’d necessarily treat yourself to very often.

I’m chuffed to be teaming up with King & McGaw again to bring you this dedicated mini gift guide, perfect for all those with arty bones.

From the abstract to the sentimental, here’s 5 thoughtful gifts for the arty types in your life.

For the music lover

Growing up, I remember my friend Ali listening to Amy Winehouse on repeat and, as her Instagram Spotify screenshots would suggest, she still cherishes her contralto vocals to this day.

Gifting someone framed song lyrics from one of their favourite artists makes for a beautiful sentimental gift and the minimalist typography makes it the perfect piece to complement any home.

For the abstract art devotee

My graphic designer pal Lauren and I have a mutual penchant for abstract art, fluidity & visual storytelling. I can see this geometric piece inspired by an Indian rose garden slotting in nicely next to her own art work. SWOON. Permission to borrow?

For the stationery geek

Made with recycled paper & handmade in the UK, this notebook would make for a great stocking filler. And ya know, who wouldn’t appreciate receiving a Frida Kahlo gift tbh?

This one’s impossible not to self-gift so what would happen if it were to accidentally* fall down my chimney and into my lap. Christmas can be miraculous like that don’t-cha-know. I have faith in you Kris Kringle.

For the adventure-seeker

Whether it’s the city breaks shared with your significant other, the trip of a lifetime with your best mate or the family holiday you want to cherish forever, this unique & sentimental map print is bound to get them right in the festive feels.

I’d go for the London print since Joe & I met on the train, back when we were both commuting.

10/10 for tear-jerking stuff, right? Alexa… play My Heart Will Go On.

For the crazy dog lady

Confession: I’ve had my eye on this four-legged friend for a while. With its childlike unbroken lines, there’s something endearing about the simplicity of Picasso’s iconic “Le Chien” print. It’ll make a dog lover very happy indeed.
